Planning our trip to Rio you were excited but also nervous about our first adventure to south America. The moment we landed the Farr Brothers put our minds at ease as they arranged a private driver to escort us to and from the airport. This Perk alone is invaluable. With our minds at piece we are able to fully enjoy our time in Rio. Our trip highlights included paddle boarding on Copacabana Beach, walking through the Brazilian botanical gardens and a two day trip to Ilha grande (a rain forest island 2 hours south of Rio) ...and of course the Christo! Needless to say we had an unbelievable trip. There's no way that this would've been possible without Farr Brothers' comforting guidance and exquisite knowledge of the Brazilian culture.

Had an INCREDIBLE time with Jinga on the Weekend Warrior Experience - safe to say it was an epic weekend. Evan was our guide and first of all, he is amazing. Not only did he take us to these hidden hikes and wild parties, but he is simple awesome to be around. A couple highlights for us: - Steep hiking to views of the entire city (and no other tourists!) - Partying all night and then heading to a beach for sunrise - Lounging at a isolated beach after Hang Gliding!! - Sweet street party Would absolutely recommend Jinga, and I can't wait to come back 🙂 !

My wife and I loved our 6 day 'Cultura Experience' through Jinga Experience. The professionalism of our guide (Thanks again Evan!) and the attention to detail that was put into our 6 day program was a notch above any other tour we have taken. Hitting the ground in Rio we knew right away that we had made a good decision booking the first part of stay through an experienced company - the city is incredibly beautiful and alive but we knew it would take us a few days to get our feet on the ground and feel comfortable in this fast-paced foreign culture. Our tour started in Paraty - honestly this was our favorite part of the trip. Neither of us had even heard of this cute little colonial town before booking. We felt like we were visiting old friends as our guide Evan introduced us to his favorite restaurants and markets and did an amazing job of teaching us about the areas historical slave culture and how it affected the rest of Brazil. I can't highlight enough how great it was to have a guide that was truly bilingual in both English and Portuguese. We felt like locals as we avoided the crowds and got right to the heart of the town as we explored Paraty's cobblestone streets. Our last 3 days were spent exploring Rio. I felt like we saw more of Rio in 3 days then we could have in a week by ourselves. From a mesmerizing trip through Rio's beautiful Contemporary Art Museum to an insider's look at the vibrant culture inside of Rio's favelas our guide Evan did a great job of personalizing the tour to our interests. We would have never dared to venture into the favelas alone, but after Evan explained that he had lived and worked on the edge of the favelas for many years we agreed and had an experience I feel very few visitors to Rio ever get. Thanks again Evan and all of you at Jinga Experience for all of your effort making our trip to Rio a vacation that we won't ever forget! Cheers,

Traveling solo through South America was awesome and coming to Rio was the last leg of my trip. After my stay in Santiago, Buenos Aires and Igaussu, this was going to be amazing but I had no idea what it was going to be like! On the plane I remembered that I didnt speak Portuguese! Enter Evan - By far the best part of my 2 weeks in SA. Evan, was everything that you could want or ask for from a guide in a country vast and beautiful like Rio. His intimate knowledge and passion shows when hes taking you around, knowing the places and people and architecture - not the crowded tourist stuff. He will take you as far and high as you want to go (or not). When I go back, its the only person I am calling or would recommend in Rio. As a reference, I spent 9 years with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and Evan and his brothers surpass that in every way possible if you want to get the REAL RIO EXPERIENCE! Valeu Valeu!

The time of my life! I cant't say enough about how energetic, knowledgable, and organized the Farr brothers were with me and my two buddies who did the 3 day Aventura experience. I'll NEVER forget the (roller coaster) Moto Taxi ride up through the favela followed by the hike (which I never would have found without Evan leading the way). My buddies and I wanted an active trip as we only had a few days in Rio, and it exceeded our expectations. After some great exercise and amazing views in the day, Evan took us to some street parties and fun bars that made me feel like I was really mixing with the locals. Even though we were only in Rio for a few days, I left the city feeling as though I had a good feel for it- the city tour brought us to some really cool neighborhoods and tasty food spots (thank god the Farr brothers are fluent in Portuguese- I wouldn't have been able to order anything!) We even squeezed in a relaxing beach session at an awesome beach that seems to be off the tourist grid, which was refreshing. I wish every city that we went to had high energy tours and tour guides like this one- Rio is definitely the highlight of our Brazil trip. I HIGHLY recommend Jinga Experience, and again, thank you Evan, Nick, and Alexander for giving me memories that'll last a lifetime!

"I'm a regularly traveler always looking for a new adventure. I only had a short period of time so I wanted to try and pack in as much as possible for my Brazil experience - this place nailed it. I saw so much in such a tight window. The tour guides were awesome. They handled transportation and all other logistics for each experience which eliminated all the stress for someone like me who did not speak the native language. They also helped me understand and relate to the local traditions and cultures. I feel like on this trip, even though it was quick, I got a really good well rounded view of what Brazil has to offer.....beautiful beaches, outgoing and warm culture, surprising urban adventures and A LOT of memories!!"

I had a fantastic time in Rio thanks to Jinga Experience! 3 day Adventure trip was exactly what i needed, full of exciting activities. We hiked in breathtaking places of Rio and tasted delicious local foods, been to beautiful beaches. Hang gliding was the most scared and excited i have ever been but totally worth it. And i cannot forget the trip to Prainha, soooo incredible! I couldn’t enjoy Rio more, Alexander was a great guide, extremely fun and attentive. I highly recommend Jinga if you are visiting Rio, you will not regret. Hope to visit this amazing city once again.

I went to Rio by myself, an amazing city and its a city that you need be guided, because there are many plans, so I took the 6 day cultura package and it was the best decision ever!!! I wouldn't have done these plans myself, these guys were awesome, great and organized. 6 days were like 6 months!!!! I had really good time and since this trip I consider these guys my friends! Thank you for making feel like home and make my trip easier!!

I've been several time in Rio de Janeiro, the last time this summer and can say that Jinga Experience was really worth it. It was the best way to get to know the city. I chose the Aventura Experience and they took me to the best hikes in the city (up to two brothers mountain), favelas and many other places. I really recommend this experience!

One of my main concerns with the idea of travel packages is that in creating an accessible avenue of adventure, they will wipe out the avenues to organic adventures they mean to represent. HOWEVER, every adventure involves some uncertainty, some risk. For me, choosing Jinga for my FIRST travel package adventure was a risk and reward that I will never forget. I usually travel for months, taking my time to figure things out. Without that wealth of time, the Jinga 8-Day Aventura Experience proved to be the carefree adrenaline stacked cheat sheet I needed to adapt to my new travel situation. As travelers that love the land they have chosen for their home, Nick, Evan, and Alexander, know the deal. Organized, but not processed. Made my un-refundable time worth every penny. Great job!

I was so excited to visit Rio and had heard so much about what the city has to offer. Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected what I experienced. With the lovely guides of Jinga, Evan and Alexander, I was able to see, taste, dance, listen, touch, and experience the treasures of Rio that are truly unique to this vibrant city. Some of the highlights in the 3 day cultura experience included the city tour, which was extremely informational and a great foundation for my understanding of the city and the history of Rio. At the end of the tour we took a Trolly ride on top of the arches and had a great snack at a local coffee shop in Santa Teresa, loved it! That evening we were shown the best of Rio's night life able to take it all in while still feeling like a local thanks to Evan and Alexander's hospitality! The next day we visited the Museum of Contemporary Art, which had the most amazing view of the city!! After this dose of culture, we were lead to one of the most beautiful beaches in Rio! Lastly, we were able to experience the true, honest face of Rio: it's favelas. Without the guidance of Jinga I don't think I would have ventured in these parts unknowingly. They allowed us to experience something that is so unique to the Brazilian culture and will remember forever! I would highly recommend Jinga for experiencing the gems of Rio! The guides were genuinely hospitable as well as excited about sharing some of their world with all of us!

The 3 Day Culture tour by Jinga was a huge highlight of my Brazil trip! I had my reluctance about a 3 Day Tour, but after going around with the guide, Alexander, I was so happy I did. The city tour was full, we trekked all over and I got a real sense of the Downtown (Santa Teresa is awesome!). The day at the Niemeyer museum with the lunch, and the beach after was perfect, even though it rained for a little. Alexander really was a genuine tour guide, gave us our space and helped when needed. I felt comfortable the whole time. I will definitely recommend Jinga to anyone spending time in Rio.

Weekend Warrior Experience

The Weekend Warrior Experience in Rio was so fun and better than I could have imagined! My tour guide Evan was charismatic and knew just the places to take us and I wouldn't have been able to do what we did without him! The hike day was fantastic. It was a great workout on the way up, not to mention a huge rush going up the favela on a moto taxi, and it had an astounding view of the city, I want to do it again! The night life in Rio was super fun and Evan took us party hopping and seemed to know exactly where the hot places to go were! It was such a unique experience that was made memorable by my amazing tour guide Evan. I highly recommend the weekend Warrior experience to anyone whose looking to have a good time in Rio!

I'm a 26-year old singer in a touring band and got the chance to travel to Brazil. Without a doubt my Rio stop was the best, thanks to the guys at Jinga! I chose the Weekend Warrior Experience because I wanted to do as many cool things as possible in the one weekend that I had, and that's definitely what we did. In the nights we went to an amazing street party and a night club. I got a little taste of samba. It was actually much easier than I thought. The first day we chilled at what is probably the best beach I've ever been to. The next day was spent sweating off the night's toxins with an epic hike that ended with the most incredible view of Rio... Must do! My guide, Alexander, was also great. He never pushed things too hard, but was always ready with a suggestion or knowledge. HUGE PLUS, he's an American living in Rio that speaks fluent Portuguese, which made me a lot more comfortable. Couldn't recommend Jinga any higher!!

“Travel is what opens your mind and heart to the world. It is a personal adventure of growth and transformation, where you let loose, have the time of your life, indulge in the simple things, and reward all your hard work. But in reality the more you see the world, the more you want to give back. The more you want to share. We at Jinga Experience firmly believe in the ideals of ecotourism and actively participate in the development of the communities we visit, because we are a part of them.”
